Hey dear reader, I have recently made a discovery that I would like to share with you. It’s a shop called Bamburi located in the heart of Zurich. I used to do window shopping there on the way to the Central Library. The other day I actually entered and spent about an hour there. I had always sensed that it was a special shop and that it would be to my taste. And it is quite unique indeed. When I talked to the stylish and friendly owner Arianna Ponte she confirmed that individualism is a huge priority with her. She wants her costumer to have the courage to set herself apart from the ordinary Zara client (you know I have been quite a fan of Zara, but I agree with Arianna that if you don’t want someone walking around as your identical twin then Zara is probably not the best choice). Arianna is always on the watch for the latest trends and must-haves, but still manages to keep her store pretty exclusive. Some of the looks are inspired by hollywood stars and many of the pieces she imports directly from L.A., London and Milano among other fashion capitals. With their great taste Arianna and Madeleine (Arianna’s lovely friend and shop assistant) help you look your best and make you feel like a little star. My favourite pieces from their current selection are the golden jumper that has a glamorous yet rocky feel to it and the stellar boots. I almost want to keep them on at night, that’s how much I’m infatuated with them. Arianna shares my big passion for fashion. Four years ago she started with her online shop and one year later she quit her job in a bank and opened Bamburi. Ever since her multi-brand shop has been very successful. She’s a good example that it’s worth following your dreams. Arianna packed my magnificent purchase in a bag that says: Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn. So true!

When I was about to leave a cute gym bag caught my attention. I thought it was extraordinary and Arianna told me the story behind it. It’s a reinvention of the classical gym bag and it’s fittingly called KarmaBag. The people behind this brand prioritize sustainability for its production. A tailor in Bali makes them for a fair price and 5 Franks per sold bag go to the organisation “Zukunft für Kinder” (future for children) which supports a development project in Bali. KarmaBags hope to be successful enough to create new jobs with fair wages in Bali. Kudos to the inventors! What a wonderful idea! And these bags are simply adorable, don’t you agree? Visit my facebook page and win a KarmaBag of your choice!
Bamburi and KarmaBag I’m your new fan! :-)
